When nothing else will fly...
The Djinndoor quad kite is designed and built to handle the high performance and quality indoor / urban demands of both John Barresi and Team KiteLife… Any kite design available from Kite Forge is exactly what John and his team fly, no secret modifications or tweaks, its ready to rock.
The Djinndoor was crafted from roughly three decades of quad kite experience and over 30 US Championships, as well as the knowledge gained from 7 full years of performance and touring with Team iQuad, backed up by months of rigorous flight and abuse testing.
The Djinndoor quad line kite includes a fully configured sail and components including one frame (Mystic 10) and a kite sleeve. Not included,Ā LPG lines (12’x50#) and handles (13″ curved) may also be purchased from our shop.
Wind range?
As a specialist for indoor / near zero wind (0-3 mph), the wind range of this kite is predominantly determined by the pilot’s ability to manage tension between slack lines and loaded sail alternately, using a “pressure on / pressure off” concept while flying. If wind is sufficient to maintain flight without moving, it is generally time to fly your Djinn UL or higher.
While you can customize your own arrangement using our colorizer, these are the four color combos we have available… Cool Fade with light blue and medium blue, Hot Fade with orange and red, Green FadeĀ with lime green and true green, and the Purple Fade with pink and purple.
Highlighted Features
- Two-Point Upper Bridle
Staying true to our minimalist approach for indoor kites, we’ve utilized a simple 2-point harness on each side of the leading edge which shifts tension points between either side of the vertical spar (enhancing outer leverage for axels) and tensions equally when flying with forward drive. It also features on-board tuning knots in order to minimize the amount of knots and other snag points on the handle end. Bottom line attachments are direct, a simple pigtail configuration. - Bungee Knot Covers
We wanted to make this quad kite as smooth and recoverable as possible, so you won’t find any exposed bungee knots anywhere on the kite, we’ve instead placed them inside the leading edge wingtips (without interfering with frame changes) and added covers to those knots and washers on the bottom wingtips, so these will no longer create snags in flight or during ground recovery. - Smooth Leading Edge
Using a T-Piece configuration and thoughtful placement of bridle components, the Djinndoor quad kite has no exposed end caps or knots along the leading edge, once again eliminating the usual snag points where lines get caught or hung up during flight or ground recovery, this also completely solves the issue seen on older designs where the leading edge end caps were wearing through both the material and spars. - Pro Class End Caps
We are using specifically designed end caps on all four wingtips that place the bridle attachments away from the very tip to significantly lessen overall wear and damage from ground contact (such as urban flying), the bridle has its own hole perpendicular to the bungee holes to eliminate directional conflict, 3D printed PP to not only keep them light but also to make them durable against both abrasion and impact. - Vinyl Tip Covers
Usually done by fliers aftermarket, we have taken the liberty of adding vinyl covers to the bottom wing tips (only) to both reduce wear on the end caps and to enhance traction, thereby greatly reducing or eliminating the well known tendency for the tips to slide out from underneath the kite when landing. - Performance Framing
Each kite comes with a Mystic 10 frame set, chosen for their overall strength, recoil and weight, these spars are specifically made for and proven during the Djinn’s development to allow the right balance of flex and stiffness to achieve solid airfoil. - Supported Sail Design
In addition to the overall quality of the Djinndoor build, it also features a latticed panel / seam arrangement to provide maximum “net-like” support in the sail which lessens stretch and particularly deformation or loss of the kite’s original outline or profile over time and also working toward the same end goal, all trailing edges are double stitched, all sail material is Icarex PC-31 (preferred by pro pilots worldwide). - Stretch Strips
Often referred to as “wear strips”, while they do certainly reduce friction and wear between the upright spars and the sail, the primary purpose of these components is actually to moderate and control the massive sail stretch and degradation that naturally occurs on many quad kites along the vertical spar due to repeated sail compression. - Folded Wingtips
Both ends of the leading edge material has been folded and sewn to reduce fraying and increase overall durability. - Indented Outer Trailing Edges
As you’ve seen by now, the outermost trailing edges of the Djinndoor quad kite are not cut in a straight line and have an inset angle applied to smooth out reverse flight which also helps with moderating the dreaded “bowtie” or single wing flip. - Custom Colors
You can also customize your own sail colors using our colorizer at KitePaint for a nominal fee, but please note all designs are subject to review and approval by Kite Forge staff for overall complexity and brand aesthetics – most designs will pass with no problem, our primary purpose for reviewing is to avoid overly complex “checkerboard” patterns or color combinations that are overly difficult to arrange, with a slight afterthought to ensuring that all kites produced also represent the brand to our taste.
Pilot Support
For ongoing support, Djinndoor owners and potential buyers will also be able to communicate with us and an active community of quad kite fliers via our section on the KiteLife Forum – whether you want info about tuning, handle choices, suggested lines or whatever, stop on by and post your question.
Great kite. Excellent customer service. Anytime again!
I think my djinndoor looks absolutely terrific.
Thanks, Team Kiteforge!
Once again I’m absolutely thrilled! From the processing, as well as how the colours pop. The handling is top notch for me and I’ve only tested a basic setup.
For me it’s clear – Djinn’s make the world more beautiful…
Glad you’re liking it, you know, everything we do comes from the heart – your sentiments mean a lot! ??
Like the Djinn, this is a proper, quality piece of kit. Love the included bridal adjustments and vinyl “feet”. I can’t speak too much on the flight characteristics, as this is my first indoor and I’m still climbing the learning curve, but I will say I have never felt that the kite was hindering me from pushing my abilities. Additionally, the custom colours look excellent.
This is my first Indoor kite, quality fabricated kite. Canāt wait to fly it!
I keep many kites in my big bag. At least one Djinn is ALWAYS in my go bag. Now there will always be two. Thank you John, Brett, and everyone up and downwind in the Kiteforge community.
